Day by day
- Days 1–3: Sarajevo, old town, museums, viewpoints and cafés.
- Day 4: drive towards Mostar with a Konjic stop if possible.
- Day 5: Mostar, Blagaj and possibly Počitelj.
- Day 6: Travnik and Jajce, with fortress, waterfall and Pliva.
- Day 7: return depending on airport, or a memory-focused day to Srebrenica if you have time and emotional energy.
Pace advice
Leave margins. Roads are beautiful but take time, memory visits require presence, and cafés are part of the experience. A good Bosnia trip is not the busiest one: it is the one where you understand what you see.
Budget and transport
A car makes nature stops and secondary towns much easier. Without a car, focus on Sarajevo, Mostar and a few organised excursions. Always compare real travel times, not only kilometres.
Frequently asked questions
Is seven days too short?
It gives a strong first view, but not the whole country.
Should Srebrenica be included?
Yes if you are prepared and plan the visit respectfully.
Is a car required?
No, but it is very useful for a complete route.
